Ph.D.- Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics

An inter-departmental Ph.D. program providing graduate students with the tools to conduct original research towards addressing fundamental biological questions.  Students will be joint members of BIG and a 'home program' chosen from one of the four DMS programs, BBS, Immunology, Neuroscience, or Virology. Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics (BIG) students will follow the curriculum and participate in activities of the home program, which will be supplemented with BIG programmatic and curricular offerings.

 

Master of Biomedical Informatics program

The Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School offers a 36-credit Master of Biomedical Informatics program. This program is meant for students who want to learn more about the exciting and growing field of biomedical informatics.  Students have the opportunity to learn from experts from throughout the Harvard Medical School community.    

 

Summer Program-  DBMI/HST Summer Institute in Biomedical Informatics   If you are an undergraduate with a strong quantitative background and interested in innovation and methodological rigor in your approach to scientific inquiry in biomedicine or in the translation of computational methods to engineering/software applications in medicine, this is the summer program for you.  This is a nine week program which offers a combination of didactic classroom lectures with nationally known thought leaders in all areas of biomedical informatics, a mentored research internship, and a communications tutorial.
