Tenure-track position in marine biology
FUNCTIONS: The Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position in biology, with a focus on marine biology and ecology. The selected candidate will be affiliated with the Département de Biologie, Chimie & Géographie (DCBG). He will develop a teaching program at the undergraduate and graduate levels, especially within the marine sciences major of the bachelor degree, and he will interact primarily with the scientific staff of the DBCG. The research of UQAR professors in the field of marine biology involves the study and management organisms and ecosystems at sea and coastal locations, including behavioral ecology, microbial ecology, evolutionary biology, fish paleontology and development remote sensing and geochemistry. This work comprises both fundamental and applied areas of research. These scientists are deeply involved in a number of recognized research groups such as the Centre d’Études Nordiques (CEN), ArcticNet, Québec-Océan, and the Research Group on Northern Environments (BOREAS).

QUALIFICATIONS:
Level and field of diplomation: Ph.D. in biology or equivalent
Field of specialization: Marine biology
Research fields: Adaptive biology of marine organisms, seashore biology, marine populations and community ecology, ecology of oceanic systems, modelisation.
ANNUAL SALARY: Acccording to the collective agreement
