CSIRO Plant Industry is seeking to appoint a highly motivated experienced scientist to develop and lead projects on improving yield potential in wheat through improving photosynthesis.  You will integrate this work into the current CSIRO Plant Industry's investments in Plant Phenomics, crop physiology / cereal genomics and wheat breeding and build on linkages with collaborators nationally and internationally.

Specifically you will:

• Develop and contribute to new projects in photosynthesis within the research group Yield Potential and Plant Phenomics

• Devise novel strategies to improve yield potential in cereals through modification of photosynthetic and related post-photosynthetic processes

• Harness current CSIRO cross disciplinary capability in crop physiology, Phenomics, molecular genetics and cereal breeding to improve wheat yield potential

To be successful you will have:

• A PhD and an extensive number of years experience in photosynthesis research using plant physiology, plant biochemistry and or molecular approaches

• Demonstrated practical experience and strong track record in plant biology with a commitment to applying knowledge to crop plant performance

• Demonstrated ability to form collaborations and to work effectively in a multidisciplinary research team
