€100,000 - €140,000 (commensurate with experience)
Do you have a strong leadership background gained in the Pharmaceutical Industry?
Would you like to work for an innovative, growing Pharmaceutical organisation?
My client is an international pharmaceutical group, with operations in Portugal. They are heavily committed to developing innovative medicines, as part of their current expansion strategy. They have an international team of scientists fully committed to the discovery and development of new therapeutic agents, whose products are in pharmacies in more than 40 countries.
Reporting to the R&D Director, you will lead the Chemistry Research Operations of the company, supporting the discovery and development of new chemical entities. The laboratory consists of between 10-12 chemists, across medicinal/discovery chemistry, analytical and process development / scale up. You will have budgetary control and execution (>€15 million).
You will liaise extensively with both internal and external partners, ensuring delivery of key research projects in timely and within budget, overseeing the technical transfer of validated API manufacturing processes to commercial manufacturers. You will oversee the compilation of a number of regulatory documents including CMC and REACH.
You will work closely with other group leaders to develop and implement strategic plans, and ensure the continued growth of a company that currently invests over 30% of profits back into expanding their R&D capacity. This is an opportunity for an experienced manager to take the next step in their career.
To be considered you’ll need extensive experience within Pharmaceutical Research Chemistry, with proven, strong managerial and leadership qualities. This will include managing work flows and processes, and also leading a group of multi-disciplinary chemists. You will have the ability to maximise available resources in the laboratories and to be able to devise and implement strategic planning. Ideally this will be backed up by a PhD, or equivalent research experience.
You’ll need excellent organisation skills and excellent communication skills (written and verbal English) , with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
