Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a Analytical Specialist (Job Number 30473).

The Analytical Specialist designs analytical High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) methods for in-process, release and stability testing of biological products developed and produced in the GMP facility at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Assesses purity, quantity, identity and characterization of products that meet GMP requirements. Interacts closely with the process development group on the development of in-process assays that are used to quantitate the product during the production process. Works closely with the Quality Assurance Group in the generation of documents including Standard Operation Procedures (SOPS), qualification protocols, and the qualification of the methods. Ensures the appropriate Quality Control personnel receive training on relevant developed methods.


  • A bachelor's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, analytical chemistry or related field plus eight (8) years of analytical research experience is required.

  • A master's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, analytical chemistry or related field plus four (4) years of analytical research experience is a required.

  • Minimal experience is required with a Ph.D.

    Experience in HPLC methods, such as reverse phase, size exclusion, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, capillary electrophoresis and standard compendia protein assays is required. Experience in LC mass spectrometry for characterization of biomolecules is required.Experience in a GMP compliant environment is preferred.
