ROLE PURPOSE:
NBC Universal seeks to add an experienced research editor to our Advertising Standards department. A significant addition to our highly professional team, this individual will work to ensure that research and advertisements comply with internal and external standards, laws and regulations, and public interest considerations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Review of commercials from storyboard to final edit for compliance with internal guidelines and external laws and regulations, specifically review prescription drug and over-the-counter medication commercials along with a variety of other product categories
    Analyze complex clinical data for various product categories that requires the editor to concisely convey his or her feedback in non-scientific terms to NBC editors and external clients
    Evaluate a wide range of marketing and scientific data submitted in support of advertising claims
    Provide realistic and constructive feedback and advice to external clients consistent with NBCU Network guidelines, FDA and FTC rules and regulations
    Negotiate with NBC Sales team, advertising agency represent

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s Degree
    At least 2 years of experience in either a clinical or consumer research-related field
    Familiarity with research statistics and experimental and survey research methods

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be 18 years or older

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

    Masters or advanced degree
    Industry experience, including strong familiarity with FCC, FTC and FDA regulatory rules
    Excellent analytic and negotiating skills
    Attention to detail
    Must be able to work independently
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
    Computer proficiency
