Lab Support is recruiting for an enthusiastic materials officer to work on a two year contract in Hertfordshire. Our client is a leading research organisation within the materials sector.

The successful candidate would be required to take a leading role in monitoring sustainability issues that affect the organisation’s work, particularly focussed on examining regulatory actions that impact the wider global market, as well as providing responses to a variety of audiences on these issues.

You would also be required to get involved in the diverse activities of the sustainability team, including gathering market statistics, drafting market reports or providing input into new research projects.

Candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemistry or other relevant discipline, with the desire to broaden their knowledge within materials science and metallurgy in particular. Knowledge of regulations that govern the industry would be desirable. Previous experience in evaluating complex issues and the documents that surround them is essential.

Excellent interpersonal skills will be key to this role, and candidates will need to demonstrate that they can work enthusiastically, both within a team and independently.
