We are looking for an experienced:
Client Service Manager - Clinical Pharmacology (m/f)based in our Leeds office
You are part of the Client Services Group within Leeds Clinical Pharmacology. The Client Service Manager is responsible for maintaining contacts with existing clients and to help develop relationships with new clients. The core of clients that a Client Service Manager will be responsible for will be those that contract Phase I studies to Leeds Clinical Pharmacology.
Extract of your duties and responsibilities:- Manage all proposal activities
- Responsible for coordinating cost estimates and budgets for new proposals
- Communicate timeframes to clients
- Prepare high quality proposal documents in a timely manner to send out to clients
- Negotiate costing and price (under supervision) with client as required
- Responsible for communicating study awards or losses to appropriate Covance operational personnel and subcontractors (where necessary)
- Responsible for contract negotiations and co-ordinate issue of Letters of Intent (LOI), definitive contracts or client versions of contracts where appropriate (with assistance from Covance Legal as necessary)
- Co-ordinate cost estimates and negotiate prices with clients if a study is cancelled or terminated
- Ensure that the study handover to Project Management and/or operational personnel is timely and thorough
- Provide a point of contact for any client queries whilst their studies are being conducted
- Ensure that any changes to work-scope during a study are captured and agreed with the client before the work is undertaken unless agreed with Senior Management
- Develop an in depth knowledge of Pharmacometric capabilities and an overview of their processes
- Visit existing and potential (where assigned) clients within UK, Europe and wherever designated as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience as a Client Service Manager or in the field of contract research
- Previous experience in a Clinical Pharmacology setting is a distinct advantage.
- Requires unquestionable customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact and diplomacy
- Ability to undertake multiple simultaneous tasks
- Ability to work to deadlines and plan and prioritise own work
- Be able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to mentor and coach less experienced Client Service Managers
- Effective oral and written communication skills are also essential
- Sound user knowledge of software applications (e.g Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Notes etc.)
- BSc in scientific or medical discipline preferred. Relevant experience may substitute mentioned degree
