The Department of Neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a neuroscientist for an endowed faculty position in the Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics. This position requires a scientist or physician-scientist with a primary interest in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity and resources to develop an outstanding program of clinical and translational research in a strongly collaborative setting. The neurosciences at UAB are expanding vigorously, and the infrastructure for basic and clinical research is excellent. The Parkinson disease and Movement Disorders program has a very active clinical practice, a strong fellowship program, and a large portfolio of clinical research including studies of the etiology and genetics of PD, experimental pharmacological therapy, and surgical interventions including deep brain stimulation. 

Applicants should be scientists or physician-scientists qualified for appointment at the full Professor level and have a strong funding history and publication record.
