3D printing comes to Nottingham
The world-leading research group which hosts the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Additive Manufacturing is arriving at The University of Nottingham, in partnership with Loughborough University. This launches Nottingham into the new digital revolution of 3D printing.
Research within the EPSRC Centre will focus on the investigation of new processes and design systems to support the manufacture of end-use, multi-functional products via 3D printing.
Researchers at Nottingham will be taking this exciting research area to the next level, moving away from conventional single material activities, to multi-functional additive manufacturing that will enable the print of an entire system. In simple terms, they will be moving beyond printing just the case for a mobile phone, but ultimately printing the whole phone, complete with
As part of the EPSRC Centre’s work, a significant number of postgraduate and postdoctoral research opportunities have been created at Nottingham.
