Senior Electronics Design Consultant - Product Design - Cambridgeshire
There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronics Design Consultant to join one of the most respected Scientific and Medical Devices Design Consultancy firms in the country. You will be in charge of cutting edge projects helping with the Product Design of life saving and life changing Scientific & Medical Devices. To assist with the Product Development of these devices you will lead a large team of Product Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers and CAD Engineers.
This role will involve client facing work and due to this you must have strong communication skills, both written and spoken. Also as you work with clients around Europe there will be occasions when you will need to travel to their companies; due to this you must hold an EU Passport.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has managed a team of design consultants for a specialist design consultancy in the past. We will also accept applications from candidates who have worked as a Lead Designers or Project Manager for direct Scientific or Medical Devices; however you will need to have worked on more than one product and must have a strong Electronics Engineering background.
As the role will require you to effectively manage people it would be ideal if you have managed people previously in a consultancy environment.
There is a lot of interest in this position, due to this my client is only accepting candidates who hold a 1st or 2:1 degree in an Engineering, Electronics or Physics subject, from a top university and holds straight A's at A Level. It would also be highly advantageous if you hold a PhD where you worked on Product Design.
Although you will start this role as a Senior Electronics Design Consultant the view for this role is to expand the Electronics Design teams throughout the Medical Devices & Scientific sectors and build more teams around you. This is an ideal role for someone with big career aspirations. As this is a leading consultancy firm the majority of people who have worked for this company have gone on to attain top leadership positions or set up their own consultancy firms.
