The Challenge
At BP, research fuels our world. Working collectively and decisively on this innovative phased project, you’ll push frontiers to develop and apply ultrasonic technologies that will measure BP process streams. After spending Year 1 developing the fundamentals of the technology at University of Strathclyde, you could spend Year 2 at one of the main research centres of BP, which is either in Hull, Illinois or California. It’s a unique chance to shape the future of on-line analytical technology at BP, to explore the possibilities in our world, and develop your career as an expert.
Your Role
- Develop analytical techniques ready for deployment in a real life scenario
- Deploy laboratory-developed technology into plant and facilities
- Liaise effectively between academic and industrial staff
- Develop and maintain an experimental and intellectual capability
- Implement technology transfer protocols to maximise the value
Essential experience and qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, mechanical or chemical engineering, physics or electronics
- Proven expertise in the field of analytical science
- Knowledge of ultrasonic and ideally its application for process analysis
- Capable of creating innovative strategies and solutions to technically complex challenges
Other knowledge and skills
- Experience of computer programming and mathematical models
- A strong leader who can influence and mentor those around you
- Able to adapt your personal style to a diverse range of client groups
- Dedicated identifying and delivering best practice principles
