Zest Scientific sales recruitment is working in partnership with a Laboratory outsourced services provider to recruit a Scientific Sales Specialist for my client's commercial team based in Cambridge. This Scientific Sales vacancy represents an excellent opportunity for an accomplished Scientist to make the transition into Laboratory Sales. My client is continuing to grow their European operation and increase market share across Scotland and Ireland and consequently is seeking an enterprising candidate with a solid academic background relating to Molecular Biology (ideally PhD level). The Scientific Sales Specialist will be based out of the Cambridge office to develop accounts throughout Ireland and Scotland and will be required to occasionally operate in a field based capacity, travelling to the territory to visit key accounts and identify opportunities for growth.
The Scientific Sales Specialist will be responsible for managing existing accounts (public and private sector) and developing new business revenues acrossScotlandandIreland. The Scientific Sales Specialist will deliver a sales strategy which will ensure all opportunity business is pursued and a high conversion rate is achieved. This is an entrepreneurial role and you will identify industry trends, understand your competitions strengths and weaknesses and utilise them to leverage influence throughout the sales process. The Scientific Sales Specialist will play an integral role in gathering market intelligence and providing feedback to the Marketing function, making recommendations for improvements in support material.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (minimum) in a relevant Life Sciences discipline (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences) coupled with commercial sales experience gained in the scientific field. Zest Scientific is also interested in speaking to credible candidates with a strong technical background in Molecular Biology / Genomics (PhD) who are looking to attain their first Scientific Sales role. This is a consultative sales role and you will be required to build effective relationships at levels within an account through a combination of credible technical knowledge and a personable demeanour. We are seeking a candidate who works most effectively when their performance is measured closely on results and candidiate's who are able to adapt to different situations.
