SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS
Thetford, Norfolk
(£20,220 - £22,467 + pension)
The British Trust for Ornithology is seeking applications for 2 permanent Software Developers to work with web-enabled databases. This is an exciting area for the BTO, developing novel interactive Java applications to collect and report on wildlife survey data. Applicants should have experience in developing database driven Java web applications, or of developing SQL and PL/SQL procedures and database administration for Oracle. Experience in both areas would be a distinct advantage.
For both positions a background in either computing or ecology is desirable; specialist training may be provided. Ornithologists with relevant IT skills would find this work rewarding.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 1pm Friday 6 July 2012.
