UCB a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry dedicated to the research, development and commercialisation of innovative pharmaceutical and biotechnology products in the fields of central nervous system and immune and inflammatory disorders, is seeking a talented Scientist to join the Downstream Process Development group due to the on-going development of an exciting and varied portfolio of antibody-based therapeutic programmes.
As a DSP Scientist at UCB you will be responsible for developing downstream purification processes for the recovery and purification of antibody-based therapeutics. Your work will span the provision of Well-Characterised Processes supporting Drug Substance Manufacture at various stages of Drug Development, from Pre-clinical to Clinical Phase I, II and III studies as well as Process Validation support activities. Within this scope is the opportunity to use a wide variety of purification and analytical techniques. Your role will be based at our site in Slough but will allow you to work within a multicultural environment and may require you to work at our state of the art site in Braine L’Alleud in Belgium for short periods of time.
Qualifications
If you are a life sciences graduate with relevant experience of bioparmaceutical process development, with knowledge of various downstream precessing tools, bringing some experience of chromatography and protein conjugation techniques and a good understanding of analytical methods for assessing product purity and protein characterisation, we are looking forward to speaking with you. Experience of large scale GMP purification, Quality by Design and process validation activities for biological candidates would be an advantage.
