Flame Pharma are recruiting a Superintendent Radiographer MRI for a leading imaging and diagnostic organisation, providing expertise imaging for NHS and private patients across the UK.

The Superintendent Radiographer will undertake modality specific imaging procedures providing, maintaining and continually developing an efficient imaging service optimising patient care. With clinical and leadership responsibility operating in accordance with local and Company Policies, you will deliver a service that is aligned to contractual and governance requirements

Key aspects of the Superintendent Radiographer MRI opportunity

Clinical/technical

  • To undertake and manage imaging procedures in line with existing modality specific clinical guidelines and protocols (MHRA Guidance 2007, IR(ME)R 2000, Code of Clinical Practice)
  • Protocol the patient referrals in line with the departmental guidelines
  • Run Quality Assurance checks on equipment, and action as appropriate
  • Ensures due regard is given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients and to ensure patients views are sought and taken into account Safety and Protocol
  • Understand and adhere to the Company Health and Safety Policy
  • Demonstrate safe, effective practice in line with the Company policies and procedures
  • Review and Develop modality specific protocols, in line with requirements, to support the service

Administrative

  • Identify process improvements and be actively involved in policy development to enhance the service
  • Assist with the booking of patients
  • Ensure Patient Information Systems are maintained with accurate and up to date information
  • To ensure the security and upkeep of all relevant patient records

Training and Development

  • Maintain professional competencies and CPD
  • Assist placement students and other colleagues in the achievement of their learning outcomes.
  • Share knowledge and clinical expertise
  • Take Ownership and fulfill the requirements of any required Statutory and Mandatory training

Leadership

  • Monitor adherence and compliance to all operational procedures and policies as outlined by the Company (daily returns, timesheets, private mileage claims, etc), escalating any concerns to the Regional Operations Manager
  • Demonstrate active involvement in the recruitment, appointment and induction of new staff
  • Conduct appraisals gaining feedback from other relevant members of staff
  • Deal with day to day staff queries, liaising with appropriate support functions where required to resolve the queries within a reasonable timeframe
  • Ensure good communication is maintained with the team to deliver a smooth running service
  • Supervise the work of non clinical colleagues
  • Conduct competency assessments at regular intervals, ensuring any development needs are identified and followed up

Key requirements of Superintendent Radiographer MRI opportunity

  • BSc Radiography or equivalent
  • HPC registered
  • Extensive experience within a similar position, and an expert within imaging techniques
