Experience in a technical / technology sales environment; broad understanding of science; working knowledge of intellectual property and licensing agreements. Ability to nurture relationships and close sales are a key part of this role.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities.....
The client company is a specialist firm connected to a large organisation that provides the pipeline of technologies which the client is tasked to evaluate commercially. As such the client company operates a business model which encompasses a range of activities designed to identify exciting technologies at a very early stage and then to work with the originating technologists and patent attorneys to develop commercially valuable assets which are then sold. The client is seeking to strengthen the team responsible for the sales element of the overall process.
The client is interested to hear from both relatively junior candidates who wish to develop a career in technology led sales as well as more experienced candidates who have already established a track record in this form of work.
Post holders will be expected to able to work well as an individual, managing their own specific portfolio of tasks, within a team environment; the client company is an SME and it is important that the post holders integrate well into the whole company.
While the expectations of capability for junior or more experienced candidates will be adjusted appropriately all candidates will be expected to:
* Add value in project specific discussions.
* Provide input into possible deal and sales strategies; note - each project will have different target markets and applications with their own specific variations.
* Build business cases to support any given sales strategy.
* Be capable of presenting projects both internally (to management) and externally (to clients).
* Represent the client company at conferences and exhibitions.
Benefits include payments into a pension scheme, medical and permanent health insurance and a standard holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays. To a limited extent the benefits can be flexed, i.e. traded against salary. For example, an individual may choose to purchase an extra 3 days of holiday or convert 3 days from the allocation of 25 into salary.
The role carries a performance related bonus which could see On Target Earnings of between £40-65k.
Offices are based in a lovely position outside of the city centre.
This is a customer facing role and international travel is required.
