This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join an internationally recognised group in forensic science.

The Centre for Forensic Science, in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry is the longest established provider of forensic science education in the UK. The Centre has the largest inter-disciplinary forensic science research group in the UK and is extensively engaged in professional aspects of forensic science including setting national standards and advising government.

The Centre supports the following programmes to which you will be expected to contribute:  MSc Forensic Science, BSc Forensic Biology and MChem Forensic and Analytical Chemistry.

Applications are invited from candidates with appropriate qualifications and experience in scientific disciplines of relevance to the teaching and research of the Centre such as genetics, biological statistics and analytical biochemistry.  Educated to PhD level, you will have the ability to attract research income and develop an independent research profile. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to inspire students.  Teaching experience and knowledge of forensic science would be an advantage. For appointment as Senior Lecturer the applicant will have a significant research track record and teaching experience.
