MAIN PURPOSE:
To manage the company's Quality Management System to satisfy BRC Code of Practice and customers requirements

To manage and develop the Technical Auditor team in conjunction with the other Shift Technical Manager

To manage daily technical issues keeping UKBU Technical Director informed and promptly raising any issues

To communicate with customers on quality and technical matters where required


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure company's Quality Management System is maintained through day to day management and internal audit programme and developed where required. To ensure HACCP CCPs are effectively monitored and average weight requirements are complied with.

To lead the HACCP Team and to ensure in conjunction with UKBU Technical Director that all HACCP requirements are identified and carried out.

To ensure all technical issues e.g. quality, micro are dealt with effectively and in a timely fashion keeping UKBU Technical Director informed.

To manage and train Technical Auditors to fully complete required job tasks in conjunction with the other Shift Technical Manager. To maintain training records for the team.

To communicate with customers on quality and technical matters in conjunction with the Group Technical Manager.

Ensure all customers have accurate customer specifications and updating or instigating new specifications using resource within Technical Department. Ensure operations are aware of customer requirements.

To assess all non conformances including internal audits and customer complaints to develop and implement corrective action in a timely fashion as required.

To work with Technical Supply Manager to understand raw material quality issues and affect for finished products on short and medium term basis.

To host visits from customers and other bodies e.g. EHO, TSO as required.

Manage the implementation of MDWT within the Department. Attend the daily MDWT Level 2 meeting and the Level 3 meeting. When required present at the monthly multi- level meeting.

Represent at external meetings and customers where agreed with the UKBU Technical Director.

To assist with other duties and projects as agreed with the UKBU Technical Director, to ensure appropriate Technical cover is always in place at SMB and to provide cover for the Technical Supply Manager.


SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office Based Environment.
Working in a chilled environment (PPE available on request) as required.
Farming Environment.
The company may, by agreement from time to time require you to work at other locations, possibly outside of the UK, either on a permanent or temporary basis.
