Zest Scientific Recruitment has been tasked to identify a Development Scientist with a background in Physics with specific knowledge of Vacuum Technology. We are seeking an accomplished Surface Scientist in the South East to work in a New Product Development capacity, playing an integral role in the design and development of the Physics related components of my client's high value Analytical Instrumentation.
The Product Development Scientist will take ownership of projects from conception through to production, working as part of a multi faceted R&D function which includes mechanical, electronic and software engineering teams. The Development Scientist will apply a wide range of Physics knowledge in an Analytical Instrumentation, complex technology problem solving product development role. The successful candidate will provide technical support, planning and conducting prototype system tests; evidence of project planning skills is equally desirable. An ability to demonstrate Electron or Ion Optical Design skills and X-ray Optical Design skills is desirable.
The Design Engineer vacancy provides an outstanding opportunity to join a business with a global presence at the forefront of Surface Analysis technology. Zest Scientific Recruitment is very interested in discussing this opportunity with candidates with a Physics PhD or credible Physics Degree coupled with industrial exposure in a design / development role. It is equally important that candidates demonstrate previous experience of Vacuum technology; knowledge of Surface Science is desirable. In addition, previous experience of one of the following software packages will be advantageous: Matlab, Mathcad, SIMION, CPO3D, VBA.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary package ranging from £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE) + Corporate Benefits.
