Morgan Thermal Ceramics is part of a £600 million Ceramics division within the Morgan Crucible Co plc. The Fired Shapes Business is a world leader in the production and supply of high temperature refractory products particularly, into the Aerospace and Automotive sectors. Processes used include Vibration Casting, Freeze Casting, Pressing and Isostatic Pressing. Materials used include Alumina, Zirconia, Mullite, Magnesia, Clays, Cements and other refractory grades firing to temperatures up to 1800oC.
We are looking to recruit a Process & Development Technician to be based at our Commercial Road, Bromborough, operation whose major responsibilities will include:
• Daily support of the Production department to resolve manufacturing issues
• Development of materials to offer a technical edge over our competitors
• Product testing programmes to ensure compliance to published data
• Develop processes to modernise and improve efficiencies of the manufacturing unit
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, we are looking for a person with relevant experience who is educated to Degree or equivalent standard to enhance our small Technical team. Preferably with Materials, Chemistry or Engineering background, you must be practical and willing to be very hands on. With good communication skills and a sound basic understanding of modern IT systems, this person will need to demonstrate self motivation and a confident, practical ability to work in this manufacturing environment.
It would be of benefit if the candidate held a full UK driving license.
