Postdoctoral Research Associate (DIA0750/TH)
Salary: Circa £33k
Term: Full time, 3 year fixed term
Beamline I13 is designed to perform and promote high resolution imaging and tomography beyond today’s limits.
Two independent branches are operational since October 2011. Micro – and nano – structured materials are studied with a variety of coherence and imaging related methods such as coherent X-ray diffraction, ptychography, full-field X-ray microscopy and tomography in the energy range of 6-30keV. Coherent imaging is a rapidly evolving field with applications to a wide area of science including:
biomedicine, materials sciences, geo – or astrophysics.
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate interested in research areas as described in detail on our Web site. The position is offered for a period of three years and provides in the current status of the beamline an excellent opportunity to develop a scientific career. The candidate should have a strong background in X-ray imaging, preferentially with synchrotron radiation experience. The successful candidate will take an active role in beamline activities and assist with user support.
Since 2010 the I13 imaging branchline is supported by a close collaboration with Manchester University, providing additional attractive academic pportunities.
