Shape the future of dementia research in the UK
Scientific leadership takes more than good resources. It takes strategic vision, a collaborative mindset and the courage to investigate bold new ideas and approaches to delivering results. These are just some of the strengths that set us apart at Alzheimer’s Society. Working closely with the research community and people affected by dementia, we are committed to growing to an annual spend of £10m in dementia research within the next five years. We’re looking for a senior professional to build on our success so far and to help us deliver our ambitious research programme.
As Director, you will be responsible for driving the Society’s leading research programme. This will include establishing cross-organisational arrangements to support the generation and application of research evidence and building and nurturing relationships with leading UK and international scientists.
This role calls for extensive research programme development experience, preferably relating to dementia in either biomedical and/or social research fields. Recognised and respected in your field, you will have the credibility to build, develop and maintain key relationships with leading dementia experts and promote the work of the Society to maximise our reach to those affected by dementia. As long as you have the right technical, leadership and change-management skills, we will be flexible in meeting your individual requirements and needs.
