Can you combine knowledge of information exploitation/informatics with a good grasp of R&D in the crop protection/seeds business? At Syngenta, we’re looking for a Data Analytics Specialist to join our Research & Development Information Systems (RDIS) team. This team has a global remit for ensuring that our scientific innovation is underpinned by advancements in information management.
You’ll drive the exploitation of R&D information and data through data mining, analysis and statistical techniques, particularly statistics relating to ‘big data’ life sciences. Specifically, your role will focus on helping R&D to dig deep into its internal and external data resources, turning them into information assets and connecting them to key scientists. We’ll also look to you to enhance our understanding of informatics, data visualization techniques, and methods of data handling, storage and exploitation. Some travel between our global R&D sites will be needed.
We need someone with the tenacity to deliver global information connection solutions, and ensure the robust management of our data, information and knowledge assets. In addition to knowledge of informatics techniques, especially bioinformatics and genomics, you’ll have solid experience of a relevant scientific environment. In particular, you should have a broad understanding of how IT and information management processes can meet the needs and challenges of global R&D activities. An effective networker, you’ll have the proven ability to work across countries and cultures.
