Director of the INFN Legnaro National Laboratory
INFN seeks a distinguished scientist to fill the position of Director of the Legnaro National Laboratory (LNL), one of the four INFN National Laboratories. The appointment is intended for four years (with the possibility for a renewal) and its starting date will be the 1st of January 2013.
LNL, embedded within international collaborations, conducts experimental and theoretical research work in the field of fundamental nuclear physics. LNL also develops cutting-edge technologies for applications in biomedical physics, radiobiology, solid state physics, environmental physics, material technology, cryogenics and superconductivity. The future LNL scientific programme is centered on the SPES (Selective Production of Exotic Nuclear Species) project.
The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding record of research in nuclear physics and a recognized leadership and ability to manage resources. Priority will be given to candidates with knowledge of the LNL scientific programme. Basic knowledge of Italian language is required.
