Batteries and Energy Storage - Batteries and energy storage research is a major interdisciplinary initiative at Penn State spanning from materials to cells to systems. The university has a diverse and collaborative group working in areas including novel electrode materials, electrolytes, binders, cell manufacturing, electrode structures, battery safety, advanced diagnostics and sensing, multiscale modeling, and battery control and energy storage management.
Penn State also has the only fabrication facility of large-format batteries among U.S. universities. We are seeking investigators that can address length scales from materials to devices and/or devices to systems. Proposals that can bridge experiments and modeling are encouraged. Details can be found at www.best.psu.edu. For more information contact Chao-Yang Wang (cxw31@psu.edu), Michael Hickner (mah49@psu.edu), or Michael Janik (mjj13@psu.edu).
