Our global client is based in Berkshire is looking for a Medical Information Officer to join their team on a 12 months contract. The ideal candidate must be a UK Registered Pharmacist with a minimum of 1-3 years Medical Information experience.

Role Purpose

To provide a medical/ scientific response service to UK customers in order to support the Company's products and services.

Provide up-to-date product information for responding to external enquiries for any products, ensuring that target response times are met.
Process potential Adverse Drug Reactions and Technical Complaints in accordance with the appropriate standard operating procedure (SOP) in order to facilitate compliance with MHRA regulations.
Update external product listings (e.g. MIMS, eMC) to ensure that the information available to customers about products is accurate and current.
Maintain product information systems and standards in order to provide accurate product support.
Maintain a high and up-to-date level of product and therapy area knowledge e.g. by attending onferences; by reading relevant medical & scientific literature
Demonstrate a high level of product knowledge by contributing to the preparation of expert documents such as formulary applications.
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the relevant information sources including: printed publications, unpublished sources, databases (e.g. BILIT, RDMnet, OVID), web sites, other departments, external bodies.
Demonstrate understanding of the principles of information storage and retrieval, and skill in their application.
Ability to search a range of relevant information sources
Demonstrate familiarity with the relevant SOPs as detailed in the SOP training matrix.
Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with relevant legal and related issues, such as the Medicines Act and Statutory Instruments; copyright; Data Protection legislation; liability; the ABPI Code of Practice
Knowledge and understanding of the business, the pharmaceutical industry and the external environment: the NHS, Government policy, regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of Siebel
Ability to communicate information effectively and clearly in written form and orally, and at levels appropriate to the needs of different customers
Create and maintain contacts with field force to enable them to gain maximum benefit for the business from Scientific Affairs
Increase awareness of services offered by Medical and Scientific Affairs both internally and externally
Ensure quality and consistency of responses to enquiries

Skills required:

*Answering medical queries - internally and from external customers
*Some experience of copy approval - but not a vast amount
*1-3yrs experience
*Strong oral communication
*Excellent written skills
