This manufacturing business has plants across Europe and in China and is a well-respected speciality chemicals producer. The company is well funded and part of a larger group with sales in excess of €600 million. Experiencing solid growth, the role will build on the success achieved so far and there is a great platform for further achievement. Markets sold to include flavour & fragrance, food, cigarette and other speciality markets. The group activities include R&D, development, and production.
The role is to take control of sales across the UK, Finland, Sweden and Norway. This will include budgetary and financial performance management as well and the guidance and management of a team of 5 direct reports (direct sales + customer service team). The role also includes direct sales to a portfolio of strategic accounts. European travel is to be expected across the territory with a likely 50/50 split between business travel and office base.
The location is the North West of the UK and this is not a home based role as the requirement is to be on site to deliver the management functions.
A stable and developed business base exists with many contracts in place so the role will allow you to develop product expertise via full training and build the business into next year and beyond.
This is a rare sales management role within an international manufacturer.
To be successful in the role you will need a chemical or chemistry background to degree level and commercial sales experience combined with some exposure to budgeting and financial management. Personnel management or supervisory experience is required.
