Applications are invited from scientists with proven research and teaching ability and special interest in food microbiology for the above position to contribute to the research and teaching of this very active School. The successful candidate would be part of a specialist Food Safety team focusing on the control of food borne illness and delivery of official food controls. This team is located within The Centre for Formulation Engineering, which forms the research centre of the School and was the recipient of the 2011 Queens Anniversary Prize.

Elsewhere within the University, the Institute of Microbiology (IMI) is a cross-college virtual institute encompassing over 20 research groups investigating multiple aspects of microbiology including applied microbiology, food microbiology, molecular microbiology and the microbiology of infectious diseases.
