Further information

Accomplished Ph.D. graduates seeking postdoctoral fellowship training in programmed cell death are invited to apply to the Katz Laboratory in the Department of Pathology at Yale University. Successful candidates will work with BCL-2 family proteins, which play essential roles in many cellular functions including apoptosis. Disruption of apoptosis results in both diseases of cellular excess such as cancer and diseases of cellular loss such as neurodegeneration. A detailed understanding of how BCL-2 family members regulate apoptosis will ultimately allow the design of novel therapies for a multitude of diseases. Recent work has focused on understudied BCL-2 family members and their integration into multiple cellular processes.

Successful candidates will be trained to develop and independent research career under the mentorship of Dr. Katz. This is an exciting opportunity to study mouse models of severe apoptotic resistance using state-of-art techniques in molecular, cellular and chemical biology, Motivated candidates with strong written and verbal skills and expertise in biochemistry, chemistry, mouse modeling, or molecular and cellular biology preferred. Interested candidates should forward a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a 1-2 page description of their research interests together with the names and addresses of three references via email by clicking APPLY NOW below.
