Position Responsibilities
The Research Scientist’s responsibilities include (i) development and execution of cell-free and cell-based assays to measure activity of specific receptor tyrosine kinases, and (ii) evaluation of the inhibitory activity of newly identified antibodies in vitro, in cell culture and in cell-free systems.
Position Requirements
Both the experience and knowledge of the Research Scientist are crucial to the execution of the aforementioned responsibilities. The candidate should hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or a related discipline, and have working experience in an academic, pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting. Extensive experience with mammalian tissue culture is essential. Strong skills in basic molecular biology and biochemical techniques (SDS-PAGE, western blot, IP) as well as FACS, ELISA, immunofluorescence techniques, and monoclonal antibodies are highly desirable. An understanding of the biology and mechanisms of receptor tyrosine kinases is a plus. In addition, the Research Scientist should be proficient with software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and GraphPad Prism.
