CONSULTANT CLINICAL SCIENTIST – VIROLOGY

Band 8d £65,270 - £80,810 – Ref: CSS-3456

The Trust’s Clinical Virology Laboratory is looking for an outstanding individual to play a vital role in virology and serology diagnostic services.

As well as carrying out managerial duties, preparing business cases and helping to develop clinical, diagnostic, treatment and prevention services, you’ll direct and supervise test selection and specimen analysis, as well as the validation/interpretation of results.
You’ll also scrutinise service quality and participate in the audit of laboratory and clinical practice and get involved in a variety of research activities.

Preferably with a FRCPath in Virology, or equivalent experience and training, you have in-depth knowledge of clinical and diagnostic virology in an acute healthcare setting and are registered with the Health Professions Council. You’re flexible and positive about change too, bring clear leadership to staff and are keen to help
them realise their potential. Above all, you’re keen to help us provides a comprehensive virology service.
