My Client is looking to recruit an R&D Scientist with experience in Immunodiagnostic Assay Development on a temporary basis with a view to this becoming a permanent position.
This is a medical device company who are going through a phase of expansion.
Responsibilities:
-Assist in the development of new surface chemistrys, particles and formats for immunodiagnostic applications
-Develop and optimise example applications for the product portfolio's, working with marketing functions to generate specific focused customer literature.
-Work with supply chain to transfer and Implement production of new products, operating and testing procedures to ensure smooth commercialisation
-Liaise with present and potential customers, marketing and field specialist to identify present and future customer needs and work with the development group to realise new products targeted to these requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
-Experience in design and builiding of immunodiagnostic assays: involving and understanding of the immunological response and also an understanding of attachment methodologies of antibodies to surfaces. (taking into account - underlying solid surface effects)
-Recent Laboratory experience and hands on development.
Requirements:
-BSc in a relevant field (or equivalent) and substantial experience in immunoassay development
-Strong communicator/customer facing
-Able to work/collaborate with other departments and organisations
-Particle based assay development (desirable)
-Experience in new product development (desirable)
-Experience of experimental design, 6 sigma approach
-Understanding of the immune/molecular diagnostic markets
