The Company
The company is the market leader in the provision of supply chain solutions to the clinical trial sector. Their services include the packaging, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products. The site is self contained with state of the art facilities in a sizeable rural setting including extensive gardens. Employing over 500 people the operational area includes high speed packaging, over encapsulation, warehousing (ambient and temperature controlled), despatch and on-site courier depot. All operational facilities are fully cGMP compliant.
The Role
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the availability, reliability and support of utilities and facility services for the operational areas of the business in order that they achieve the plans to satisfy customer requirements. On a day to day basis this will be achieved through the management, coaching and development of the Facility Team (Critical Utilities Engineer, Facilities Team Leader, Facilities Electrician and Estate Gardner) along with the introduction of appropriate technology and working practices. These activities will be carried out in accordance with current statutory, regulatory (inc. GMP) and company safety and quality standards.
Success in the role will be achieved through improving Key Performance Indicator’s for building utilities and facility services delivery, availability and performance, safe and quality compliant facility operations, development of a capable and competent team and growing profitability through reducing the cost per unit measures. The role will encompass budget responsibility; external contractor management; hosting client audits/site tours and justification/recommendation of service contracts, capital investment projects and changes in working practices.

Experience
We are seeking an ambitious individual with experience of facilities management gained in a controlled and regulated GMP operational environment eg Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, FMCG, Medical Devices, Scientific etc. Expertise must include team leadership, contract negotiation, sub contractor management, budget responsibility and reporting of SLA’s and KPI’s for site services.
