A fantastic opportunity is available for a Bioinformatics/Statistical Data Analyst to join a market leading bio-pharmaceutical organisation. This unique R&D department is looking for a high calibre bioinformatics scientist with proven data analysis experience in 'R/Matlab' to focus on the analysis of large scale biological data sets.
Your key responsibilities will involve the experimental design and microarray data analysis for cutting edge research & development projects. You will help apply, and if necessary develop and adapt new statistical data analysis methods and ensure their correct and rational use.
The ideal applicant will be educated to a PhD level in bioinformatics, computational biology or biostatistics with a proven background in Matlab, 'R' and Bioconductor libraries. It is essential that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability/interest in mentoring more junior Bioinformaticians within the team.
To succeed in this role, the successful candidate will be familiar with a wide range of methods and techniques used for the statistical analysis of data generated by NGS & microarray gene expression experiments.
