Job Description
We are recruiting Fluid Mechanic Research Scientists for our leadership and development program which accepts only a few of newly hired engineers or scientists each year. The purpose is to provide selected candidates pursuing careers in Research, Engineering, Manufacturing or Sustaining (REMS) the unique and fascinating opportunity to gain field operations experience prior to joining Schlumberger Cambridge Research Centre.
You will obtain practical knowledge in both environments within just a few short years after graduation. Exposure to true field operations will greatly enhance your ability to create, design and build the best technology in the industry, and upon return to the research centre you will bring with you the unique perspective of an engineer or scientist with expertise in field operations.

The program begins with a field assignment lasting between 15 to 18 months where you will be based in one of our field locations worldwide, during which time you will be trained under the same technical program as our new field engineers by a combination of classroom based training and on-the-job training. Upon successful completion of the field assignment, you will return to Schlumberger Cambridge Research Centre for a further 15 to 18 months and apply the knowledge gained in the field towards the research of the newest and most advanced technology and techniques in the industry. After the Program is completed, you may remain in research or have the opportunity to progress your career into management, marketing and sales, personnel or field operations.
