The Company
The company is the market leader in the provision of supply chain solutions to the clinical trial sector. Their services include the packaging, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products. The site is self contained with state of the art facilities in a sizeable rural setting. Employing over 500 people the clean room operational area includes high speed packaging, drug over-encapsulation, warehousing (ambient and temperature controlled), despatch and an on-site courier depot. All operational facilities are fully cGMP compliant. Also on site are administrative / project offices and secure car parking.
The Role
To advise and work with the Directors, the Site Safety Council, Senior Management and Department Mangers to lead and delivering effective Health and Safety Management within the organisation. This will include developing arrangements and providing advice in order to ensure ongoing regulatory and legal compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements (these will include: Health and Safety Culture, Management and Employee Health and Safety Training, Contractor Control and Management Arrangements, Risk Assessments, Hazardous Materials Management, Display Screen Assessments, First Aid, Business Continuity, Emergency Planning Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Management and Environmental Management). To ensure processes and procedures are in place, reflecting current good practice and regulatory requirements. To continuously review and improve the framework for effective and compliant EHS practices across the business. To identify training gaps, create appropriate health and safety learning solutions and monitor the application of learning to the workplace. To assess site exposure to EHS risk and in consultation with the Senior Management develop improvement programmes. To manage all interfaces with the Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental enforcement authorities.

Experience
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager / EHS Manager whose expertise has preferably been gained in a comparable pharmaceutical / GMP regulated operational environment. This could include sectors such as healthcare, medical devices, FMCG etc. Relevant academic qualification, certifications and institution membership will be expected.
