Job Description
The Senior Process Development Scientist will Co-ordinate the design, execution, analysis and interpretation of experimental studies.
Design process steps for the cell expansion and production of complex biological products
Operate bench and process scale: stirred tank bio-reactors (glass and single use), rocking motion bio-reactors and depth filtration systems and scale up/down of bio-processes.
To undertake studies to characterise an established manufacturing process, to determine the criticality of process parameters and material attributes; and their linkage to product quality attributes and process performance.
To effectively communicate experimental findings via reports and presentations both internally and to external parties.
Disseminate technical learning through mentoring and training.
To work in conjunction with Manufacturing, Quality Control (QC), and Quality Assurance (QA) departments
Person Specification
It is essential that the Senior Process Development Scientist will have
Extensive fermentation experience in the expression of recombinant biological products.
High level of experience in mammalian expression systems and techniques.
Ability to co-ordinate/schedule the design and execution experiments in an effective and timely manner.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
Process tech transfer to/from third parties including cGMP manufacturing.
