
Formulation Development Chemist - HPLC - Formulation Development - Analytical -

An international scientific company is currently looking to strengthen their R&D division through the appointment of a Development Chemist. Reporting to the R&D Team Leader you will work in a multidisciplinary team of up to ten other people including microbiologists and chemists.You will be responsible for the support of the product range, the associated manufacturing process, and culture media.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
·Development of new analytical procedures for investigation of the products and culture media.
·Laboratory investigation of products and culture media including maintenance of related raw materials & consumables.
·Adherence to project plans and maintenance of project documentation.
·Initiation of projects through the suggestion of ideas for improvements to current analytical methods, products, media products, processes, or manufacturing.
·Investigation of the operational factors affecting manufacture.
·Providing support to the manufacturing team on the Basingstoke site.
·Documentation of CAPA investigations using Microsoft Project, & contribution to the company CAPA system.
·Providing a chemical analysis service to other groups or departments.
·Planning & execution of small projects in agreement with internal customers to specification in accordance with schedules and budget.
·Producing scientific reports.
·Promoting existing products through external technical presentation and publication.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity you will hold at least a degree or equivalent in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related topic.
Experience of analytical techniques, especially HPLC, is essential.
Some experience in a formulations development role and transfer to production experience would be of benefit but is not essential.
Experience in a microbiological laboratory is also desirable.
Proficiency with office software packages including Excel is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is preferable.
