COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Working in a highly dynamic, fast moving environment, this is a significant opportunity to work within the central hub of a major healthcare communications network.
The Healthcare Communications Network comprises 13 distinct divisions, providing market-leading services. Spread between the North West, Home Counties and Central London within the UK, the network also has a strong presence in the US and Central Europe.
Driving the business development needs of the multiple brands in the network across the UK and US.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Relationship Development
· Able to work within a matrix environment and profiling appropriately with client to ensure strong relationships are maintained
· Input into the strategic direction of large programme/account(s)
· Understand and challenge client/product strategy to identify needs and recommend solutions
· Understand product science
· Thorough understanding of client and pharma industry environment and how it influences the account
· Thorough knowledge of network offerings and how they will add value to client/product
· Working knowledge of competitor agencies on the brand, their key strengths and potential divisional opportunities
· Issue handling, supporting the team or directly with the client
Finance
· Responsibility for achievement of agreed financial targets
· Knowledge of client contracts (MSAs) and their operationalization
Business Development
· Key member of the business development team
· Input into the business development strategic and tactical plans
· Achievement of an individual business development target (organic and new)
· Growth of existing business with current client base
· Identify and follow up leads/opportunities for new business as per the target allocation
· Lead/drive resourcing and preparation of compelling and successful pitches/proposals/ideas generation
· Partner with e-services team to drive sales across current client and expand into new
Operations
· Share ideas and best practice within team
· Support and be a driver of innovation and change
· Identify and communicate resource needs and input into management team meetings as an when required
· Understand and promote divisional values
· Demonstrate team leadership, motivation and drive
· Oversee and drive efficient working within own team and across other departments ensuring internal processes are followed
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Pharmaceutical sales experience
· Proven digital sales experience
· Self-starter who thrives on high level of accountability
· Experience of working within a medical communications agency in senior role including developing new business pitches
· Demonstrable ability and desire to drive organic growth in promotional medical communications and communicating effectively with internal delivery teams
· Drive and enthusiasm and strong team player and leader to partner with account management and medical and scientific services teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities
· Ability to network outside of current client base and build new opportunities using current client portfolio
