A global, bio-pharmaceutical organisation is on a quest to find an ambitious Bioinformatician / Biostatistician to join their growing computational biology division. Utilising your strong mathematical & statistical background, you will be responsible for the development of bespoke machine learning algorithms and the creation of statistical data analysis methods to enhance existing workflows.
Working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary R&D groups, you will be expected to utilise your bioinformatics expertise in providing statistical advice and new machine learning strategies to customers across both within the academic and pharmaceutical sector.
This rare opening would suit a highly motivated computational biologist / senior biostatistician with proven exposure in the implementation of machine learning techniques for biomarker identification and genomics experiments. You will be well versed in the latest statistical and large scale data analysis methods, with hands-on programming experience in MATLAB or R/Bioconductor. Previous exposure to analysing high throughput genomics, genetics, proteomics or next generation sequencing data would also be highly advantageous.
The ideal applicant will be educated to a PhD level in bioinformatics, computational biology or quantitative discipline. He/she will have proven pharmaceutical or post-doctoral experience, developing machine learning approaches and computational methods for high-throughput genomic R&D projects.
