Postdoctoral Fellow – City of Hope Beckman Research Institute
Position Summary and Key Responsibilities
The Division of Translational Vaccine Research at City of Hope Beckman Resesearch Institute has an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate interested in the study of immunologic mechanisms and vaccines to control of hematologic malignancy. The focus of the position is murine tumor models of hematologic malignancy and treatment with Salmonella and other vaccine delivery approaches (see Cancer Research – vol. 71, page 4183, 2011).
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
• Candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in immunology, applied clinical science, or cell biology or equivalent is required by the starting date.
• The ideal candidate will have experience with manipulations of murine tumor models, in vivo imaging, T cell functional assays including cytotoxicity assays and in vitro stimulation using peptides or viruses, retrovirus construction and cell transduction, and experience with flow cytometry, especially polychromatic flow using a modern 6-color instrument.
• Experience with molecular biology approaches including bacteriologic and virologic methods would be an advantage for the successful candidate.
