Our client are a major FMCG business who are looking for a Technology Sourcing Associate to join their healthcare team based in Hull. The candidate will need experience sourcing licensing opportunities and technologies from external sources
Responsibilities:
Responsible for identifying and evaluating licensing or other ready-to-market opportunities in accordance with the products strategy and consumer insights.
Responsible for the sourcing and technical evaluation of realistic opportunities from internals sources and external sources (e.g. suppliers and academic institutions) in accordance with the product strategy and consumer insights.
Lead activities to enable decision-making for identified opportunities to be taken to feasibility or development stages. Provide strong technical and theoretical input, identify the level of risk associated and mitigation plans, and ensure that consumer insights are taken into consideration, to provide confidence in project success.
Responsible for establishing agreements and transfer to the relevant R&D team, of agreed new technologies to bring mid to long term opportunities for growth to the Category.
Prepare hand-over project files providing all background information, work to date and clear recommendation for next steps acting as a consultant post hand-over as required.
Develop strong relationships with key 3rd parties and a broad external network to leverage company flexibility in finding rapid solutions to technical challenges or NPD requirements.
Lead the setting up and monitoring of new legal and development agreements with selected 3rd parties.
Active involvement in ideation processes and consumer understanding programmes
Candidate Requirements:
Good degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
Experience of sourcing licensing opportunities and technologies from external sources which have progressed into product development or launch.
Commercial understanding of supplier facing roles e.g. Technology Sourcing , Licensing , Technical Support, and of establishing technical agreements and contracts.
Experience within FMCG or consumer healthcare company an advantage.
Experience of product development within the cosmetics or medical devices arena an advantage.
