Product Inventor - Mechanical Design Engineer - SolidWorks - Cambridgeshire
Calling all inventive minds, one of the most far thinking and nurturing design consultancies are currently looking for Product Inventors or Mechanical Engineers who can think up and develop new exciting ideas. You will get to work on a range of design projects from the Scientific & Medical Devices sectors. When you have free time you are encouraged to design any product ideas you have and can be given further funding if the idea has potential.
It is important to have a creative and inventive mind in this role as you will be brought very challenging projects and problems that you will not be able to solve by just looking in a book. You need to be able to think outside the box to solve some of the most challenging problems in the scientific and medical devices fields.
While working as a Product Inventor or Mechanical Design Engineer you will be working with other industry specialists who are more than happy to help in any specialist areas. You will need to be able to work effectively very quickly, so strong SolidWorks exposure is essential.
You will ideally hold a relevant 1st or 2:1 degree from a leading European University along with straight A's at A-Level (or equivalent). You will sometimes need to travel to client site, as this could be in another country in Europe you will need to hold an EU passport.
People who have been successful in this role previously tend to have practical hobbies in their own time. People at the company have been known to build aeroplanes, kit cars, build prototype devices and other practical hobbies that means they have to think out problems.
There is a real social side to the company, each month they go out as a company for food or drink at least twice. There are sports teams including football, cycling and running. Also they have started things like Book Clubs. This company really create an environment that people enjoy and don't want to leave.
