This position will have two main areas of responsibility -
Ensuring compliance of the Global Chemicals business unit with all European regulatory requirements and regulations.
Providing database and technical assistance to support Commercial, Sourcing and Production activities as required.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
Hazard classification and determination of hazard labelling requirements for new and existing products in accordance with the EU CLP Regulation.
Authoring of safety data sheets for new and existing products in accordance with EU REACH legislation.
Transport classification for new and existing products, in compliance with IATA/ICAO, IMDG and ADR.
Ensuring compliance with all EU trade regulations, import/export compliance, and compliance with other applicable legislation concerning, for example, drug precursors, ozone depleting substances, biocides, etc.
Providing database and technical support to internal and external customers.
University degree in a Chemical discipline.
Current knowledge of REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) and CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008).
Experience of chemical hazard classification and hazard labelling in accordance with the EU CLP Regulation.
Experience of safety data sheet authoring in accordance with REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006).
Experience of transport hazard classification of chemical products.
Experience of relevant databases and software systems an advantage.

Judgment: ability to rank relative compliance risks and prioritize resulting actions accordingly.
Flexibility: ability to react quickly to changing priorities
Prepared to undertake training in systems and processes where necessary
Proficiency with Microsoft office programs.
