As Chemo Sensory Analyst you will apply analytical technologies and chemosensory techniques to the challenges of quantifying sensory information. Using the latest equipment and techniques, you’ll help our client understand more about the way that product extensions and changes impact on the sensory perceptions of consumers. With important new product innovations emerging, our client requires your skills and knowledge of methodologies to help provide quantifiable, scientific data.
Working as part of a team you’ll interact frequently with other scientists and product developers, coaching and training junior colleagues to enhance their knowledge of the latest techniques in sensory analysis. You’ll combine creative thinking, consumer insights and extensive applied science in order to help develop successful products for markets worldwide.
Although our client has an extensive suite of analytical equipment, some of the more advanced flavour technology work will be achieved by making use of expert external organisations, who you’ll help to develop strong working relationships with.
To succeed in this role you’ll probably be an experienced sensory / flavour / food scientist, or have worked with consumer / hedonic testing. You will also have a sound appreciation of all aspects of sensory analysis.
In addition, you will ideally have experience of using some of the following techniques:
MS-Nose
APCI-MS (Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization – Mass Spectrometry)
PTR-MS (Proton Transfer Reaction - Mass Spectrometry)
GC-O (Gas Chromatography – Olfactory)
Benefits: On site gym, excellent pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, share save and bonus are just some of the fantastic benefits that my client offers. Further details on request.
