
Primary Role:
To assist with Evaluation Laboratory activities;
To ensure stock is controlled in the laboratory
To ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
To develop the protocols employed to assess the performance and reliability of products;
To plan, organise and carry out test programmes
To interface with external test facilities and academic institutions;
To identify suitable concepts for future product evaluations
To collaborate with other team members on internal and external development projects;
To interface with QA, RA, Operations and Project Management functions.
Other Roles:
To contribute to other aspects of the research and development activities;
To contribute to product specifications;
To contribute to and approve performance and reliability protocols
Participation in design and risk reviews.
To contribute to Quality system;
To ensure a safe working environment.
Skills:
Experience of design control
Experience of performance evaluation and reliability testing
Expert in the design and development of chemical or biosensors for commercial purposes;
Experience in handling biological samples
Experience:
A degree in bio-chemistry, chemistry, physics, engineering or biology. (A post-graduate degree in a relevant field would be an advantage).
Experience of working with quality systems e.g. ISO, EN13485 is essential.
The ideal candidate would have at least four years experience of the development of electrochemical sensors for commercial applications and supervisory experience in a related subject.
Ideally a good track-record in the area of chemical sensing or bio-sensing;
Ideally experience of dissolved gas levels and other analytes in blood.
