Associate Professor / Professor in Environmental Management

The Institute of Agriculture and Environment seeks an academic leader in Environmental Management to lead research and teaching in a manner that fosters the development of the discipline. The Institute, which is housed in the College of Sciences, provides teaching, research and services to find the right balance between agricultural production and long-term environmental sustainability.

This positon will be based in Massey University’s Manawatū campus in Palmerston North, which is the University’s original home base. Massey at Manawatū is internationally recognised for its expertise in agriculture and food industries and is a leader in industrial innovation in areas such as food science and technology, and biotechnology. To be successful in appointment to this role, you will have PhD in Environmental Management, be an experienced and motivated researcher of managed and natural landscapes with expertise in the relationship between agriculture and the environment. You will also be skilled in qualitative and quantitative research and have a sustained track record of excellence in Environmental Management or related areas, including regular publication of research in refereed journal articles. In addition to the environmental expertise in areas such as impact assessment, project management and policy development, you will need to have a willingness to pursue and secure external research funding. Experience in teaching at tertiary level or equivalent professional experience is highly advantageous.
