QUALITY CONTROL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

SALARY:      Competitive  (dependent on experience)
LOCATION:  Leeds
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS:        Full Time (37.5 hrs, Mon-Fri)

REPORTS TO: Quality Control Supervisor

Our client is a company dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people through the development, manufacture and supply of who need a precise specialised medicines.  As such all QC employees must be able to demonstrate full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Health and Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities are to carry out analysis of finished products, raw materials, and stability testing.  All analysis must be carried out in accordance with methods of examination and pharmacopoeia monographs, ensuring GLP and GMP are maintained throughout all processes and procedures.

The technician will also be expected to carry out support activities such at the calibration of analytical equipment, follow Standard Operating Procedures and to be able to complete documentation to GMP requirements.

The technician should have the following skills;
  • Data documentation skills
  • Wet analytical techniques
  • Complete HPLC assays
  • Manual Titrations
  • GC
  • Auto-Titrations
  • Karl Fischer
  Primary Tasks
  • Understand all basic GMP and GLP requirements including data documentation requirements
  • Analysis of raw materials to the approved specification.
  • Analysis of finished products / stability to approved specifications.
  • Support New product Introductions and business improvement initiatives
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all appropriate records relating to both work and equipment operation.
  • Ensure correct calibration equipment is carried out.
  • To keep the Laboratory to a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Carry out sample receipt process.
  • Understand CoSHH and Risk assessments.
  • Support laboratory administrative processes
