Editor-In-Chief - The Lancet Planetary Health - London, UK
The Lancet Planetary Health
The Lancet seeks a full-time Editor for a new online-only, open-access specialty journal dedicated to Planetary health, which a Lancet-Rockefeller Commission defined as the health of human civilisation and the natural systems on which it depends.
The Lancet Planetary Health, to be launched in 2017, will join The Lancet Global Health and The Lancet Public Health to provide the third pillar in an open-access programme that broadly covers the interplay between health and all aspects of health in our living and physical world. The Editor will be based in The Lancet’s London offices in the UK and have overall responsibility for launching this new monthly title which will publish fast-track original research articles together with commentaries and editorials.
An MD or PhD (with experience in a relevant discipline), or an alternative related higher degree, combined with substantial directly related experience is required; research experience in the specialty would be an advantage, as would an understanding of editorial processes and journal production. Experience of launching a new journal and project management would be beneficial.
